Create offerings, prices, duration and capacity

An offering is the service a customer can enquire about or request to book. Write it as a complete decision page: customers should understand what they are requesting, how pricing works and what is not included.

Before you start

Sign in to the correct ShareDay account and, if you manage more than one business or event, check the name shown in the account switcher before making changes.

How to do it

  1. Open Bookings and choose the offering-management option, then create a new offering or edit an existing one.
  2. Enter a concise name and a description covering the experience, suitable group or event, inclusions, exclusions and preparation requirements.
  3. Choose the pricing mode supported by the portal, such as a fixed price, starting-from price, hourly or duration-based price, free service, or quote/request arrangement.
  4. Add duration and capacity where they control scheduling. Capacity should reflect the safe and practical limit, not an aspirational maximum.
  5. Set deposits, minimum notice or other commercial settings only when the business can honour them and the customer will see them before confirming.
  6. Connect the offering to the correct availability, locations and resources.
  7. Save as draft while checking it, then make it public and use the customer preview to test the complete request.

Important details

  • Do not place unavoidable charges only in free-text fine print. Make pricing and required deposits clear in the fields provided.
  • If the final price depends on information from the customer, explain what changes the price and when a firm quote will be supplied.
  • Changing an offering does not silently rewrite an already confirmed customer agreement; communicate material changes to affected customers.

If something does not look right

  • If an offering remains non-public, check required fields and the dashboard attention message.
  • If the displayed total is unexpected, review pricing mode, quantity, duration, add-ons and deposit settings before accepting a booking.
