Safety & Security Overview

This document provides a general overview of how ShareDay approaches safety and security. It should be read together with our Privacy & Data Policy and Terms of Use.

1. Our Approach to Security

ShareDay uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the platform and the information it processes.

These measures are designed to:

Prevent unauthorised access
Protect against accidental loss or misuse
Maintain basic platform integrity

However, no online service is completely secure.

2. What We Do Not Guarantee

We do not guarantee:

That the platform will be free from security vulnerabilities
That unauthorised access will never occur
That data will never be lost, accessed, or misused by others
Continuous availability or uninterrupted service

Users should not treat ShareDay as a secure archive or backup system.

3. User Responsibilities

Users are responsible for:

Keeping login details secure
Using strong passwords
Logging out from shared or public devices
Only uploading content they are comfortable sharing with others

Event hosts are responsible for:

Choosing appropriate visibility settings
Managing access to their event
Enabling features suitable for their audience

4. Third-Party Services

ShareDay may rely on third-party infrastructure (such as hosting providers) to operate.

While we select providers carefully, we do not control their systems and are not responsible for their failures or security incidents.

5. Reporting Security Issues

If you believe you have found a security issue:

Contact us with details
Do not exploit or publicly disclose the issue

We will assess reports in good faith but are not obligated to respond, fix, or reward disclosures.

6. Safety and Content Boundaries

ShareDay does not actively monitor events or content.

We may act where:

Required by law
A serious safety risk is identified
There is clear abuse of the platform

Any action taken is discretionary.

7. Changes to This Overview

This overview may be updated from time to time.

Continued use of ShareDay means you accept the current version.

8. Company & Ownership

ShareDay is operated by Dillon Collective Limited, a New Zealand registered company.

Dillon Collective Limited is the legal owner of the ShareDay platform, including its software, databases, and supporting infrastructure. Event hosts and guests retain responsibility for the content they create or upload to events.
