Create and run a Managed Event

Managed Events let a Partner prepare and administer an event for a customer while keeping the customer’s access and activation clear. Treat the Managed Event workspace as a controlled handover, not as ownership of the customer’s personal account.

Before you start

Sign in to the correct ShareDay account and, if you manage more than one business or event, check the name shown in the account switcher before making changes.

How to do it

  1. Open Managed Events from the Partner Portal and create a new managed event.
  2. Enter the customer and event details accurately. Confirm spelling of the customer email because activation and handover depend on it.
  3. Choose or create the appropriate package, then review which features and services are included.
  4. Apply the Partner branding and invitation setup intended for this event. Preview customer-facing material before sending anything.
  5. Import customers or guests only when you are authorised to do so. Use the supplied CSV template, keep the required headings, and review the import summary for rejected or duplicate rows.
  6. Complete the setup checklist, including event dates, capacity, package, customer details and any permissions required for team members.
  7. Send the customer activation or handover message. Explain that they must verify or activate their ShareDay access before using customer controls.
  8. Monitor the managed-event status and resolve activation, data or setup warnings before treating the event as ready.

Important details

  • The Partner remains responsible for the accuracy and lawful use of imported customer data.
  • Activation links should go only to the intended customer and should not be forwarded through public channels.
  • Changing package or branding settings may affect customer-facing pages; preview after material changes.

If something does not look right

  • If activation is not received, confirm the customer email, check message status and resend once rather than creating a duplicate event.
  • If a CSV import partly succeeds, correct only the rejected rows and avoid re-importing customers already created.
